Bernie was scared to death because CART had a growing International fan base that Mansell gave them. Nige was not going to bow to Prost, therefore he took his talents to America. At the time, CART had the most diverse schedule in the world that neither F1 nor Nascar could match. The TV ratings were unreal, they had races in Canada and Australia at the time with races to follow in Brazil where their fans were growing big time.
