I must have watched this video 1000 times in the last 7 years and I will never get tired of watching it. The unique haunting sound of the 10 cylinder Honda churning away, the expertly-timed downshifts from Senna, threshold braking perfectly, arcing through the corners with maximum entry and exit speed.

The sequence that starts approaching the 130R in 6th where Senna grabs 5th with a quick brush of the brake pedal as he turns in and FLOORS it through there at 180mph, tracking out over the curb on the exit gracefully, then arrives at the last chicane maxed out in 5th and brakes so late right on the bumpy stuff that he has to balance the car with the slightest input on the wheel countered by what must have been a flurry of foot pulses on the brake pedal while downshifting to 1st is a great example of his other-worldly car control.

This was really a lap at the limit, and Senna had such a unique way of “knowing” where the last little bit of speed was hiding. As I put it: he could drive a grand prix car like it was a go-kart.
